A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. Vitality-RN - Per Diem•
IMPORTANT NOTE
In lieu of benefits due to "per diem" status, 15% will be added to the hourly rate. Per diem employees are offered work on an "as-needed" basis.
POSITION SUMMARY
The staff nurse assesses and monitors clients' health status and physical care needs at admission and while clients are in the program. They supervise clients in all aspects of medication self-administration and all management of medication and other client care supplies. The staff nurse also provides health education for clients and families as needed or requested. They function as a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and perform administrative, clerical, and other tasks according to program policy. They demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of performance.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum EducationGraduate of an accredited college of nursing.

License RequiredCurrent RN licensure in the State of NevadaCertification RequiredBLSCertification PreferredCertification in gerontological or psychiatric nursing desirable.

Minimum Work ExperienceCorporate ComplianceAbility to read and write in English.

Possesses good communication skills.

Grammar/Spelling and Reading/Comprehension SkillsOrganizational, verbal, interpersonal, patient relations, analytical, and computer skills.

Client and family teaching; teaching/learning materials development.

Problem solvingComplaint resolutionAcute-care clinical and/or psychiatric nursing experience required.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Patient CareCompletes an admission geropsychiatric nursing assessment for every client according to unit standard,Implementing necessary precautions as needed for each client.

Monitors clients on an ongoing basis to identify health needs, problems, and/or symptoms.

Communicates relevant clinical and other client care Information to Program Director, Medical Director and Treatment Team members as necessary and appropriate.
