9632658-12020 Job Description Embark on an engaging contract opportunity as a full-time school nurse floater supporting elementary students for the full academic year. Two positions are availableone for an RN and another for an LPN/LVNoffering diverse daily experiences, professional growth, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children. In this role, you'll provide essential nursing services across elementary campuses, collaborating with school staff and caring for students with a wide variety of needs. Working a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7am to 3pm, you'll play a vital role in fostering a healthy and safe school environment. Beginning in December, one of the float nurse positions will transition to a specialized assignment, providing individualized 1:1 care for an elementary student with a tracheostomy through the end of the school year during a maternity leave.

Key qualifications:

Active and valid RN or LPN/LVN license in New York State Experience in school nursing or pediatric care strongly preferred Comfortable working independently as well as part of a collaborative team Confidence performing in both general school settings and delivering 1:1 specialized care (trach experience preferred for RN role covering maternity leave) Ability to adapt quickly, travel between elementary schools if needed, and manage dynamic responsibilities Primary responsibilities: Delivering daily healthcare and medication administration for students and staff Responding to emergencies and addressing acute or chronic health conditions Supporting individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and developing documentation as needed Communicating with parents, teachers, and administrators to coordinate student care Providing health education and promoting wellness in the school community For the maternity leave coverage: offering comprehensive, dedicated care to a tracheostomy-dependent student If youre a compassionate RN or LPN/LVN eager to make a real difference throughout the school year, apply today to bring your skills and dedication to this fulfilling role!
