Job Description Triage - Registered Nurse (RN)
Location:
Bohemia, NY Hours/Days:
5/8.5 hour days, Mon-Fri 7:30a-6:30p
Organization :
New York Cancer And Blood Specialists (NYCBS) In this role, you will: Perform thorough telephonic symptom assessment for patients practice- wide Utilize evidence-based triage protocols to determine appropriate level of care and urgency while providing clinical decision-making within scope of practice. Deliver patient education regarding symptom management, treatment side effects, medication guidance and support. Coordinate care with physicians, APPs, and ancillary staff as needed. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, utilizing appropriate focused assessment documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, HIPPA regulations, and practice policies. Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism, empathy, and efficiency in high-volume call environments. Support continuity of care by proactively identifying patient needs and potential barriers to treatment adherence. Assumes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management team, consistent with organizational needs and departmental objectives.
We require:
Valid New York State RN License Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency with an EMR (preferred) Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
