Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract A specialized opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in Cardiac Telemetry Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing. This position requires a strong foundation in cardiac care, offering an engaging role in managing complex cardiac patients. The contract role is based in Endicott, NY, with a focus on night shifts.
Schedule & Hours:
12-hour night shifts 36 hours per week Every other weekend coverage 13-week contractEssential Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years as a Registered Nurse Proven experience in a cardiac telemetry unit with familiarity in managing TAVR, Watchman procedures, Mitral Clips, heart catheterizations, and pre/post-op open heart care when transferred from CVICU Skilled in cardiac IV/PO medications and drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Heparin, Insulin Knowledgeable in managing anticoagulation, CHF, arrhythmias (NSTEMI, STEMI), PE, post-op CABG (>3 days), Sepsis, PNA, Stroke, and patient observation Proficient in use of TR band, groin management and complication monitoring Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Completion of telemetry skills checklist mandatory prior to assignmentKey Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care as a primary or accountable nurse for cardiac stepdown patients Conduct patient and family education on health promotion and disease management Administer medications safely and according to nursing protocols Contribute to unit resource management and efficiency while maintaining compliance with professional nursing standards Participate in shared governance, quality improvement initiatives, and peer review Support professional development and clinical education for colleagues Uphold ethical nursing practice standards and organizational valuesLocation Insight:
