Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Operating Room Circulating Nurse to join our surgical team. In this vital role, you will coordinate and oversee all aspects of patient care during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe, efficient, and sterile environment. Your expertise will help facilitate smooth operations in the operating room, support surgical teams, and prioritize patient safety at every step. Duties Act as the central coordinator for surgical procedures, ensuring all supplies, equipment, and personnel are prepared and functioning properly. Maintain aseptic technique standards throughout the operative process to prevent infection and ensure patient safety. Assist with positioning patients appropriately for surgery, including specialized procedures such as cardiac catheterization or ophthalmology surgeries. Monitor and document intraoperative events, vital signs, and patient responses using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to facilitate seamless workflow and address any emergent issues promptly. Ensure proper handling and documentation of surgical specimens, medications, and supplies in compliance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations. Support postoperative procedures including wound care, suturing assistance, and patient transfer to recovery areas. Experience Proven experience working as an Operating Room Circulating Nurse in a hospital or surgical center setting. Familiarity with SIS EMR for accurate medical documentation. Experience supporting pain management procedures such as discectomies, Intracept, MILD and Spinal cord stimulator trials as well as epidural steroid injections. Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control protocols, and sterile processing standards. Background in critical care environments such as ICU or emergency medicine enhances ability to manage acute situations effectively. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology relevant to perioperative care. Additional experience as a scrub nurse preferred but not required. $50.00 - $60.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
