The School Nurse will collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to support the physical and emotional health of students. Job Responsibilities Working 1:1 with students with disabilities. Nurse office coverage. Assess and evaluate students' health needs through regular health screenings and monitoring of vital signs. Administer medications and provide first aid as necessary for injuries or illnesses that occur during school hours. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Comply with reporting guidelines and protocols. Maintain a clean and safe environment. Excellent communication, strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current NY RN license. BLS/CPR certification. Experience in school nursing or pediatrics preferred but not required. Up-to-date medical documentation (Physical, Titers, QuantiFERON). Fingerprinting clearance. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with medical records management systems and HIPAA compliance standards. Compassionate demeanor and excellent communication skills. Previous experience in urgent care or clinic settings a plus.
