Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to students, promoting health education, and ensuring a safe and healthy school environment. This role is essential in addressing the medical needs of students and supporting their overall well-being. Responsibilities Assess and manage student health issues, including acute and chronic conditions. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Conduct health screenings, including vital signs checks, vision assessments, and hearing tests. Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school policies. Provide first aid and emergency care as needed, including responding to injuries or illnesses on campus. Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans for students with special needs. Monitor immunization records and ensure compliance with state health regulations. Participate in school health programs and initiatives aimed at promoting student wellness. Qualifications Valid nursing license (RN) in the state of employment. Experience in patient care within a clinic or hospital setting preferred Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and geriatrics is beneficial. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and best practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of student health information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
