Columbia Memorial Health is looking for RNs to join our Psychiatric Inpatient team. The Department of Psychiatry is committed to providing a high quality patient experience through a variety of treatment modalities. We are seeking caring nurses to who want to be part of a dedicated team. Our nurses enjoy 12 hour shifts, flexible scheduling and low staff turnover. We will conduct onsite training for you in the Psychiatry Unit if you have not previously worked in Psychiatry before! Come be a part of our caring, dedicated staff today! The registered nurse works in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to determine and meet the needs of the patient. The registered nurse has the primary responsibility and accountability for providing quality care to patients through the use of the nursing process as reflected in the Standards of Nursing Practice and in a manner that is cost-effective without compromising quality care.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure and registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the New York State Practice Act and the American Nurses' Association (ANA) Standards of Nursing Practice.

UNIT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

BLS Current medical-surgical experience preferred Minimum of two (2) years current psychiatric experience preferred

o The nurse demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual has knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served. He or she must be able to assess and interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the patient group (neonate, pediatric, adolescent or geriatric).
