A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Educate agency staff on required medical and health-related topics, including AMAP Training, AMAP Recertification, Tube Feeding, Infection Control, First Aid & Seizure Training, Bloodborne Pathogen Education, Tuberculosis, OPWDD Diabetes Education, and Colostomy Bag Training Develop and update training materials in accordance with AHRC Nassau, Citizens Options Unlimited, Inc., and OPWDD regulations. Administer and read Mantoux (PPD) tests. Ensures appropriate staffing during all PPD testing hours and maintains adequate inventory of PPD serum and needles, ensuring proper storage and disposal. Serve as a liaison between the Learning and Professional Development Department and external entities regarding medical training assignments for the workforce.
We require:
NYS Registered Nurse Licensure Valid NYS Driver's License Strong public speaking abilities/experience Supervisory experience managing RN trainers Experience working in the field of Intellectual Disability/Development Disability preferred Teaching experience strongly preferred Proficiency in utilizing all MS Office Suite applications and virtual platforms i.e., Teams, Zoom Certified CPR Instructor, a plus Nurse Trainer, for immediate consideration, please apply now!
