1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Rochester, NY, requiring phlebotomy and IV placement competency with night shift availability. Details 14-bed overflow Med/Surg Telemetry unit housed within a GI Endoscopy space, created to accommodate ED boarder patients Patient census is flexible and may increase or decrease based on ED boarder demand Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required Floating is required Epic EMR is preferred Candidate must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible Requirements Active NY RN license required (pending license not accepted) Current BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement is mandatory Required skills include: telemetry dysrhythmia interpretation and management, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care and management, oxygen administration (nasal cannula, tanks), non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions Epic EMR experience preferred 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Previous charge nurse experience is preferred Navy blue or white scrubs required Minimal time-off requests (RTO) are preferred for this assignment All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at the time of application Block scheduling will be accommodated when possible but is not guaranteed
