The Registered Nurse collaborates with the Cardiologists in an office setting.

Essential Job Functions:

Under the direction and supervision of a license physician, provides health care to patients including diagnosis and treatment. Obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations, makes diagnosis and orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Review test results. Provides patient education about underlying medical condition. Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance. Administers immunizations. The Registered Nurse will perform other duties as assigned by supervising physicians. The Registered Nurse will perform cardiac stress tests to prepare patients for Cardiac Imaging (Nuclear or Ultrasound), EKGs, Holter Monitors and Pacemaker checks. Initiate medication authorizations and notify the patient, pharmacy and physician when approved. Review transition of care documents on discharge and follow the CHF initiative practice guidelines. Monitor medication samples, monitor inventory and order when needed. Ensure HIPPA guidelines are followed at all times. Physical Demands:

May spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. Ability to lift 20 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients or objects may involve lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds.
