Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiology at the Hudson Valley Health Care System VA, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive cardiovascular care to our Veterans. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative environment, utilizing advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage patients with diverse cardiac conditions. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and detailed medical histories focused on cardiac health. Collaborate with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements, ensuring safe and effective patient care. Perform diagnostic evaluations such as echocardiograms, stress tests, and sonography to assist in accurate diagnosis. Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions, including arrhythmias, heart failure, hypertension, and ischemic heart disease. Educate patients on lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and disease management strategies to promote long-term health. Experience Proven experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in cardiology or related fields such as internal medicine or hospital medicine. Hands-on experience performing cardiac catheterizations, echocardiography, or other diagnostic imaging techniques is highly desirable. Strong background in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers enhances your ability to manage complex cardiac cases effectively. Experience with patients that have pacemakers. Experience working within collaborative practice models under supervision of physicians or specialists is preferred. $141,000.00 - $188,000.00 per year
