A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description

Shift:
7 AM -3:30 PM, 40 Hours per week - weekend, holiday and call required Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current NYS RN license BLS required ACLS preferred. Preceptorship, charge and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs. Experienced RN will possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principles, ability to provide quality patient care, and ability to assess patient's needs, e.g. clinical, teaching, mental and spiritual. Must recognize safety issues to self and others and be able to assess and implement use of lifts to move patients in a safe manner. Must be able to function well in stressful situations and have good, creative, problem-solving skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate. May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge in the use of typical clinical equipment instrumentation utilized in providing a safe and/or aseptic environment in and OR/ASU setting. Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills. On call required (Response time of 30 minutes).
Pay:
