Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic surgical team. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and sterile techniques are in place for each procedure. Assist surgeons and surgical teams by passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and managing intraoperative needs with precision and efficiency. Monitor patient vital signs continuously during surgery, promptly responding to any changes or emergencies with critical care expertise. Administer medications, including anesthesia and pain management treatments such as botulinum toxin injections or acute pain protocols. Document all aspects of patient care accurately within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Conduct thorough preoperative assessments and postoperative evaluations to ensure optimal recovery and discharge planning. Support infection control protocols and aseptic techniques rigorously to maintain a safe surgical environment. Requirements Valid RN license with current registration in the state of practice. Proven operating room experience (OR experience) in a hospital setting; experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and critical care procedures including airway management, ventilator support, and IV infusion techniques. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Epic for accurate medical records management. Demonstrated ability to perform sterile processing tasks like suturing, specimen collection/processing, catheter care, and ostomy care. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities, memory care patients, or those requiring hospice & palliative medicine services. Excellent assessment skills for vital signs monitoring, patient assessment, triage procedures, and diagnostic evaluation in urgent or emergent situations. Knowledge of infection control standards aligned with NCQA standards and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10). Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as emergency medicine or trauma medicine units while maintaining compassionate patient care.
