Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using advanced EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications and injections with precision, including IV infusions and suturing when necessary, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations. Manage acute pain and provide specialized care for patients with complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, or chronic illnesses in settings like ICU or trauma centers. Coordinate discharge planning, case management, and long-term care arrangements for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, and hospice patients. Perform diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, catheterization procedures (including Foley and other urinary catheters), and assist with imaging procedures like sonography or mammography. Lead triage efforts in urgent care or emergency room environments by prioritizing patient needs based on severity and utilizing critical care response procedures. Ensure meticulous medical documentation of patient care activities, medication administration records, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and compliance with NCQA standards for quality assurance. Skills Extensive experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks to accurately document patient interactions. Proficiency in advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion, ventilator management, tube feeding, ostomy care, and neonatal resuscitation procedures. Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy to perform thorough physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations across various specialties including cardiology (cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology (Botulinum toxin treatment), geriatrics (memory care), and behavioral health. Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers with expertise in trauma medicine and acute care response. Skilled in infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for laboratory work, sterile processing, or operating room support during outpatient or inpatient procedures. Ability to handle complex cases involving hospice & palliative medicine, occupational health issues like Workers' Compensation law compliance, or home & community care scenarios. Exceptional patient assessment skills combined with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages—including children (pediatrics) and infants—while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality at all times.
