Days•36 hours per week (3x12s); 1-2 on call days per week $2751 weekly Up to $1500 for referrals 294290 Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) procedures to join our dynamic healthcare team in Cincinnati, Ohio . This role offers an exciting opportunity for experienced nursing professionals to provide exceptional perioperative care within a fast-paced, state-of-the-art hospital environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in cardiovascular surgery, critical care, and advanced patient management, ensuring optimal outcomes for patients undergoing complex cardiac and vascular procedures. This position emphasizes comprehensive patient assessment, meticulous surgical support, and adherence to the highest standards of safety and quality care. Duties Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgeries within the CVOR, including preoperative preparation and postoperative recovery. Assist surgical teams during complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures, ensuring strict aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance. Monitor vital signs, hemodynamic parameters, and physiological responses throughout surgical interventions using advanced monitoring systems. Administer medications as prescribed, including sedation, analgesics, and emergency drugs, while observing for adverse reactions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized patient care plans tailored to specific surgical needs. Document all patient interactions, procedural details, and clinical observations accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to infection control protocols and proper sterilization techniques. Support emergent situations with advanced airway management, IV infusion therapy, and emergency response procedures. Coordinate with anesthesia providers for intraoperative patient management and postoperative transfer planning. Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, infection prevention, and compliance with hospital standards. Qualifications Valid RN license in Ohio or appropriate state licensure; current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred. Minimum of two years of recent experience in CVOR or cardiac surgery nursing within a hospital setting. Demonstrated proficiency in operating room procedures, sterile technique, and perioperative patient care. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with documentation standards like NCQA or ICD coding is advantageous. Knowledge of advanced cardiovascular monitoring equipment and pharmacology related to cardiac surgery. Critical care experience in ICU or step-down units is highly desirable. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques specific to surgical environments. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety. Experience working with diverse patient populations including those with complex medical conditions such as infectious disease care or trauma medicine.
