Job Description

Wise Medical Staffing is seeking a Pediatric OR Nurse to deliver high-quality perioperative care to children undergoing surgical procedures. In this contract role, you'll assess and prepare pediatric patients, assist in the operating room, monitor status intra- and post-operatively, and support families throughout the surgical experience. You'll collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR staff while following strict safety and infection-control standards. Responsibilities Provide age-appropriate perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients before, during, and after OR procedures Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and maintain accurate clinical documentation Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to ensure safe, efficient procedures Educate and support patients and families on procedures, recovery, and post-op care Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory standards in the operating room Respond to emergencies and rapidly changing patient conditions using sound clinical judgment Required Skills Pediatric perioperative nursing Intraoperative patient monitoring Medication administration and IV therapy Airway and hemodynamic monitoring Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Infection control and sterile technique Pre- and post-operative patient assessment Family and patient education Emergency response and crisis management Interdisciplinary teamwork and communication
