D/N rotating; 36 hours/week
Requirements:
2+ years of RN Oncology experience required. Active OH or compact license. Join a world-class, NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the heart of Columbus. As an Oncology RN at The James, you will act as a vital member of a multidisciplinary team, managing and providing compassionate care to adult patients and their families. You will assess, plan, and evaluate nursing care in alignment with our Relationship-Based Care model, helping patients navigate complex medical histories, diverse cancer diagnoses, and multiple treatment modalities.
Key Responsibilities Direct Patient Care:
Manage care for a fast-paced patient caseload (e.g., solid tumor, hematologic, or surgical cases).
Treatment Administration:
Safely administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and supportive therapies.
Symptom Management:
Monitor vital signs, manage side effects, and track overall wellbeing during and after treatments.
Patient Education:
Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and potential side effects to maximize their involvement in care.
Team Leadership:
Direct, delegate, and supervise nursing care provided by Patient Care Associates (PCAs) and other members of the care team.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
Partner with Physicians, PAs/NPs, Social Workers, and Patient Care Resource Managers to ensure comprehensive, holistic care.
Qualifications Education:
Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.
Licensure:
Current, active Ohio RN license or interim permit required.
