1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency. Details Labor and Delivery unit setting Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM May be required to float Facility delivers 200-300+ births per month Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced) Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required Epic EMR experience required IV start and maintenance experience required Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs, use of infusion pumps/drips, and IV monitoring Experience with central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) preferred Experience with high-risk antepartum care preferred Experience as baby nurse/catcher preferred Experience with breastfeeding/lactation support preferred Experience with cervical cerclage and tubal ligation procedures preferred Skilled in triage of obstetrical patients preferred Experience with spiral electrode placement preferred Experience with IUPC placement and calibration preferred Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor-level leader; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted Additional Information Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal care in the delivery room Perform APGAR scoring, cord sample collection, and ID/security banding for newborns Circulate and recover for C-section procedures Administer and manage medications including magnesium sulfate therapy and pitocin Perform fetal monitoring including recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns Manage postpartum care for patients with cesarean section, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location, while those at extreme distances will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to submission, limited to 7 days or less
