PCU/Stepdown Nurse (RN)

Qualifications & Experience:

Current RN license, in good standing Minimum of one year of recent experience in a stepdown or telemetry unit Proven clinical expertise in monitoring and caring for stepdown-level patients, particularly with cardiac conditions Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms, interventions, and acute care protocols BLS and ACLS certifications required Ability to adapt quickly in high-acuity settings and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills

Responsibilities & Duties:

Provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care for adults requiring intermediate cardiac monitoring and interventions Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and respond to changes or emergencies promptly Administer medications, manage IVs, and deliver treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and post-discharge instructions Coordinate patient care with physicians, allied health staff, and support services Maintain accurate records using electronic medical systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards Foster a positive, supportive environment while advocating for optimal patient outcomes
