Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine appropriate care strategies. Administer medications and treatments accurately, including injections, IV infusions, suturing, and catheterizations, following strict aseptic techniques. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient information meticulously and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as emergency rooms, intensive care units (ICU), neonatal units, or outpatient clinics to develop and implement individualized care plans. Manage acute pain through evidence-based interventions while monitoring patient responses for optimal comfort and safety. Perform diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results like ICD coding or

ICD-10/ICD-9

classifications. Provide education and support to patients and families on health management topics such as medication administration, nutrition, wound care (including ostomy care), or dementia care strategies. Skills Proven experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for efficient medical documentation. Expertise in specialized areas such as cardiology (cardiac catheterization), trauma medicine (Level I & II trauma centers), infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine or behavioral health. Critical care experience in ICU or emergency medicine environments with skills in airway management, ventilator support, trauma response procedures and neonatal resuscitation procedures. Proficiency in performing complex procedures including tube feeding management, spinal taps, gastric lavage, sonography or laboratory testing. Familiarity with healthcare standards such as NCQA standards for quality assurance and CPT coding for billing purposes. Excellent patient assessment skills complemented by physiology knowledge and the ability to work efficiently under pressure in acute care settings like hospital medicine or urgent care clinics.
