Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Experienced Operating Room (OR) Nurse / Clinic Nurse Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties Prepare patients for surgical procedures by reviewing medical histories, explaining processes, and ensuring informed consent is obtained. Assist surgeons during operations by maintaining sterile environments, handling instruments, and managing surgical supplies. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations. Administer medications such as botulinum toxin treatments, injections, IV infusions, and manage acute pain with precision. Operate and troubleshoot advanced medical equipment including ventilators, dialysis machines, cardiac catheterization tools, and EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner. Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization (urinary or vascular), tube feeding management, and ostomy care. Manage patient documentation meticulously in compliance with HIPAA regulations while ensuring accurate medical records and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9). Participate in triage assessments for urgent cases in outpatient or emergency settings; coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care. Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and laboratory specimen collection/processing. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in trauma centers (Level I & II), neonatal units (PICU), or hospice & palliative medicine environments to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care. Experience Proven clinical experience in operating rooms or outpatient clinics with a strong background in surgical nursing procedures. Critical care experience within ICU or trauma center settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is essential for efficient documentation. Extensive knowledge of anesthesia support, airway management, ventilator use, and neonatal resuscitation procedures preferred. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics (memory & Alzheimer's care), individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs. Skilled in performing complex procedures like cardiac catheterization, sonography, gastrostomy tube placement, spinal taps, and infection control practices. Ability to handle high-pressure situations typical of emergency room or Level I trauma center environments while maintaining compassionate patient care. Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding standards (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for billing purposes, and hospital medicine protocols.
