A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. Key Responsibilities Working within a collaborative team, you will provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to adults, adolescents, and children.Clinical Care & Assessments:
Conduct physical and mental health assessments. Obtain and track vital signs, blood sugar, weights, BMI, and administer toxicology and breathalyzer screens.Medication Management:
Assist with administering psychotropic medications (including injections) and monitor clients undergoing medication adjustments. Safely secure medications in compliance with state, federal, and Center regulations.Crisis & Stabilization Services:
Provide support in our 23-Hour Observation and/or 3.7 Withdrawal Management units, responding productively to change and high-stress situations.Provider Collaboration:
Partner closely with psychiatrists, tele-psychiatrists, and nurse practitioners to coordinate care and implement medical orders.Trauma-Informed Support:
Utilize a Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) approach to help guide clients through their treatment and recovery.Client & Family Education:
Facilitate medication and wellness groups to educate clients and families on medication benefits, risks, and the physical impacts of substance use.Position Requirements & QualificationsRole-Specific Requirements:
For RN Candidates:
A valid, active State of Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license. Background or training in trauma-informed care is highly preferred.For LPN Candidates:
A valid, active State of Ohio Practical Nurse (LPN) license.Shared Qualifications:
- Active CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Prior experience in behavioral healthcare, psychiatric nursing, or a fast-paced crisis environment is preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience is a plus.
- Strong computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Word, and Electronic Health Records).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; bilingual capability (Spanish/English) is a strong plus.
- Favorable professional references and/or evaluations.
Physical & Working Conditions:
- Position is located on-site at the Crisis Recovery Center in Lorain, OH.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods for computer documentation and periodically lift/carry up to 10 pounds.
- Must have the physical capability to safely interact with clients in emergency situations to prevent harm. Compensation RN
