Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator to lead our agency's health services and delegated nursing program. In this role, you will oversee clinical care planning, delegate medical tasks to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), ensure full DODD regulatory compliance, teach Medication Administration classes, and serve as the primary clinical advocate for our individuals. This is an ideal role for an RN who thrives in community health, enjoys teaching and mentoring staff, and wants an alternative to traditional hospital nursing with predictable, daytime-focused hours.
Oversee the agency's Delegated Nursing program in accordance with
OAC 5123-6.
Perform initial assessments, delegate health-related tasks (Category 1, 2, and 3) to qualified DSPs, and conduct ongoing QA reviews.
Staff Training & Certification:
Serve as (or obtain certification as) a DODD RN Trainer. Conduct Category 1, 2, and 3 Medication Administration certification courses and annual renewals for direct care staff.
Health Assessments & Care Plans:
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for individuals served, draft Nursing Care Plans, and integrate healthcare needs into overall Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
DODD Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Maintain compliance with Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) rules, County Board requirements, and Medicaid Waiver standards. Audit Medication Administration Records (MARs), physician orders, and health documentation monthly.
Clinical Supervision & Advocacy:
Monitor individual health trends, triage medical concerns, liaise with physicians, pharmacists, and County Board SSAs, and provide on-call clinical guidance for urgent health matters during and after business hours. Company cell phone is provided.
Qualifications & Requirements Licensure:
Unrestricted, active Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
Experience:
Minimum of 18 months of active RN experience (required for DODD RN Trainer eligibility). 1+ years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), home healthcare, or community nursing preferred.
Certifications:
Active DODD Certified RN Trainer preferred (or willingness to complete the DODD Train-the-Trainer program within 90 days of hire). Current CPR/AED certification.
Other Requirements:
Valid Ohio Driver's License with a clean driving record and reliable transportation (local travel to residential sites required). Must pass an BCI/FBI criminal background check and registry checks.
