North Shore Gastroenterology & Endoscopy Center is the leading provider of general & advanced GI procedures with two state-of-the-art facilities located in Northeastern Ohio. Already one of the largest private practices in the Cleveland area, we are continuing to grow our team and are looking to add an Advance Practicing Provider to our talent pool.

Primary Job Functions:

1. Evaluates and completes assessment of patient needs to provide supportive care before, during and after procedures and maintains accurate and complete medical records. Communicates pertinent information to physicians and staff. 2. Responsible for implementing all physician orders, obtaining signatures on consents, and providing for continuity and quality of nursing care for patients with ongoing evaluation of the patients' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy. 3. Provides a safe environment for the patient to prevent potential injury. Investigates and intervenes in problem situations, reporting appropriate information to Physicians and supervisor as needed. 4. Demonstrates competency with IV insertions and administration of fluids and medications according to policy. 5. Accountable for administration of drugs, IV procedures and other therapeutic and diagnostic measures in a safe and appropriate manner. 6. Demonstrates knowledge and competency with monitoring patients receiving procedural sedation. 7. Completion of Conscious Sedation Module and Test 8. Maintains equipment and supplies to include: a. Operates and troubleshoots patient monitoring equipment. b. Assists with ordering and maintaining Preop/PACU supplies and medications. 9. Consults with appropriate physician and/or supervisor as needed. 10. Accepts direction from supervisor or physicians and adheres to established routines. 11. Participates with in-service opportunities and staff meetings. 12. Maintains flexibility and /performs other duties as required. 13. Functions within the legal limits of nursing practice. 14. Refers situations beyond ability or function to appropriate person. Seeks educational opportunities and accepts responsibility for own professional growth and development Participates in QA program. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Effective communication and listening skills. Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with little supervision. Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems. Comfortable working in fast paced environment with a focus on patient care & efficient practice Special Requirements Maintain annual TB Screening Maintain hospital credentialing and privileging requirements (drug screening, compliance training, health assessment, etc.) and abide by hospital regulations Work Environment Outpatient setting requiring contact with patients, physicians, and staff.
