Key Responsibilities:
Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department Job Description The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, compassionate, and timely care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced, 36-bed Emergency Department serving approximately 59,000 patients annually . The ED RN is responsible for rapid assessment, triage, intervention, stabilization, and evaluation of patients presenting with a wide range of emergent and urgent conditions. This role requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive and focused assessments of patients presenting with emergent, urgent, and non-urgent conditions. Triage patients using evidence-based protocols to determine acuity and initiate appropriate care. Provide rapid intervention and stabilization for patients experiencing medical, surgical, traumatic, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with hospital policies and provider orders. Operate and monitor medical equipment, including cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and point-of-care testing devices. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, EMS personnel, and other healthcare professionals. Coordinate patient care, including diagnostic testing, reassessment, disposition planning, and patient education. Accurately and promptly document patient assessments, interventions, and responses in the electronic medical record (EMR). Participate in rapid response events, trauma activations, Code Blue, stroke, and STEMI protocols as required. Maintain strict compliance with infection control practices, safety guidelines, and hospital standards. Promote patient-centered care, empathy, and service excellence in a high-volume Emergency Department.
Qualifications Required:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oklahoma or a valid compact license. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Preferred /
Required Within Timeframe After Hire:
