Job Description
Mercy's Ada Emergency Department seeks an experienced emergency nurse to deliver rapid, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. You will triage and stabilize diverse patient populations, administer evidence-based treatments, and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include monitoring and documentation, patient and family education, and strict adherence to safety and infection control standards. Responsibilities Perform rapid assessment, triage, and stabilization of emergency patients Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per protocols and physician orders Monitor vital signs, interpret clinical changes, and respond to emergencies Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams on care plans Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and follow-up care Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records and documentation Operate and troubleshoot emergency department equipment safely Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality standards Support process improvements to enhance patient throughput and experience Mentor new staff and contribute to a collaborative, respectful work culture Required Skills Emergency nursing Triage and rapid assessment IV insertion and medication administration Cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation Advanced life support protocols Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation Patient and family education Infection control and safety compliance Interdisciplinary team collaboration Emergency equipment operation
