Mercy is seeking a Med Surg Registered Nurse for our Ada 2 North unit. In this role, you'll provide compassionate, evidence-based care to adult medical-surgical patients, including assessments, medication administration, wound care, and discharge planning. You'll collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and support staff to deliver safe, high-quality care, while educating patients and families. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and develop patient-centered care plans for adult med-surg patients. Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely, following Mercy policies and evidence-based practices. Monitor patient status, interpret basic telemetry or vital sign trends, and promptly report changes to the care team. Perform wound care, dressing changes, and post-operative monitoring as ordered. Document all care, assessments, and patient responses accurately in the Electronic Health Record. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, procedures, and discharge instructions to support safe transitions of care. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case management, and support staff to coordinate holistic, efficient care. Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards, participating in unit-based quality improvement projects. Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure timely patient flow. Support and precept new staff or students as needed, contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
