Gifted Healthcare seeks a compassionate Psychiatric RN to deliver high-quality mental health nursing care within inpatient or community-based settings. The Psychiatric RN will complete comprehensive assessments, administer medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and support crisis stabilization while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and nursing assessments for diverse patient populations Administer medications, including psychotropics, and monitor for side effects and therapeutic response Implement individualized care plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and suicide risk assessment following safety protocols Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and coping strategies Participate in treatment team meetings, discharge planning, and care coordination Adhere to trauma-informed, patient-centered, and evidence-based nursing practices Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and infection control standards Contribute to a supportive, respectful, and collaborative unit culture Required Skills Psychiatric assessment and mental status examination Medication administration and psychotropic management Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques Suicide and violence risk assessment Care planning and interdisciplinary collaboration Trauma-informed care practices Patient and family psychoeducation EHR documentation and informatics Knowledge of DSM-5 and common psychiatric disorders Regulatory and safety compliance in behavioral health settings
