Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform suturing with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations. Manage complex cases involving ICU, trauma medicine at Level I & II trauma centers, or emergency room scenarios by providing critical care and acute pain management. Assist in specialized procedures such as catheterization, dialysis, gastrostomy tube feeding, or ostomy care while ensuring patient safety through meticulous documentation and medical records management. Collaborate with physicians and specialists in ophthalmology, cardiology (including cardiac catheterization), infectious disease care, or behavioral health to develop tailored treatment plans. Provide patient education on health coaching, medication administration, discharge planning, and post-acute care strategies to promote recovery and well-being. Support triage activities in urgent care or outpatient clinics by prioritizing patient needs based on clinical assessment and urgency levels. Work with individuals with disabilities or those requiring memory care or dementia support within assisted living or long-term care environments. Qualifications Valid nursing license with current registration; experience with NCQA standards is preferred. Proven expertise in medical-surgical nursing, ICU/critical care experience, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine settings. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Hands-on experience with IV insertion, phlebotomy, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and infection control protocols. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures and treatments; familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid regulations is a plus. Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology to support diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning across pediatrics, geriatrics (including MDS), neonatal ventilator management, or home & community care settings. Excellent communication skills for patient assessment, health coaching, teaching hospital experience preferred. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as trauma centers or Level I trauma centers; experience in hospice & palliative medicine is advantageous. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are beneficial.
