Full Job Description Job Title:
Staff RN Supervision:
Clinical Director, Medical Director of Dialysis Access Center Purpose:
The nurse is responsible for rendering professional nursing care to patients seen in the Dialysis Access Center, including patient assessment, patient monitoring and assisting the physician with patient care.
Key Processes:
1. Responsible for rendering professional nursing care, in compliance with his/her license, to patients seen in the center and work with the Medical Director to assure the goals of the center are met. 2. Responsible for the pre and post-surgical assessment of the patient seen in the Dialysis Access Center. 3. Responsible for patient monitoring during interventional procedures. 4. The Nurse is a "circulating nurse" who is responsible for obtaining pharmaceuticals and equipment used in the case. 5. Responsible for administering sedation and analgesia as prescribed by the physician. 6. Assist in interventional procedures. 7. Consult with the patients and patient's family as needed. 8. Performance Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the medical field, such as medical terminology, conscious sedation and pre/post-surgical care. Must have the ability to perform data input, computer operations of EMR, verbal and written communications, math, knowledge of grammar and spelling and demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedures. Must work effectively as a team member with all physicians and staff. Must be flexible and respond to changing demands. 2.
Equipment used:
Properly trained to use all equipment in medical office including but not limited to: computers, AED, INR machine, etc. 3.
Mental Demand:
Reads documents, detailed work, maintain confidentiality, problem solving, reasoning, verbal communication, written communication, customer contact, multiple concurrent tasks, and frequent interruptions. 4.
Communications:
Interacts with staff, physicians, patients, administration, and outside agencies daily. Interactions may be via telephone, in writing, E-mail, or face to face. Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills when dealing with the public on a daily basis. 5.
Physical Effort:
Medium work: Must be able to lift, reach above head, bend at the waist or kneel, stand or sit for long periods of time, display manual dexterity, walk or otherwise transport self to other areas of the practice, hear or detect the phone and respond appropriately, communicate with other individuals for the provision and gathering of information. 6.
Working conditions:
Category I:
High Risk, position contains tasks that daily involve exposure to blood, and body fluids. Medical office environment. 7.
Education, Experience, and Training:
Graduate of a professional school of nursing with a current Oregon State license as a Registered Nurse. Must be BLS and ACLS certified. Must be familiar with nursing evaluation of pre and post-surgical patients. At least two years of clinical nursing experience. Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients and others. 8.

The age categories served by this role is primarily adult and geriatric adult.
Pay:
$46.00 - $49.00 per hour
