No What are expected ratios? see note in special req Special requirements: This is a PACU and Pre-Anesthesia Combined Unit. The applicant must be proficient in pre-anesthesia and post anesthesia care.
Patient Ratios:
Providence Seaside has a blended (combined) pre-anesthesia/PACU Department.
In Blended Postanesthesia Care:
Perianesthesia units may provide Phase I, Phase II, and/or Extended Care within the same environment. This may require the blending of patients and staffing patterns. In the blended environment, the perianesthesia registered nurse uses clinical judgment based on patient acuity, nursing observations, and required interventions (care based on preoperative interventions and type of procedure) to determine staffing needs in the pre-anesthesia environment in alighnment with recognized standards (ASPAN) and state staffing regulations. Call is shared equally by the RNs. Typically, 2 days a week plus some weekends on rotation. Weekday call starts between 1530 and 1800 depending on the daily staff end times and ends at 0600. Call Shift rotation Friday 0630•0630 Monday Are 48 hours approved:
