• Obtain OCN certification within 2 years of hire once meeting OCN requirements

• IV experience General Summary Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care.

Primary responsibilities include direct patient care, patient/family teaching, symptom management, counseling, and supportive role to assist the patients and their families. May require specialized skills depending on location/unit/specialty assignment. Duties and Responsibilities Provides general nursing care and personal care assistance to patients. Writes initial nursing histories, assesses patients' conditions and develops individual care plans for patients. Carries out physician orders such as administering prescribed medications or treatments, preparing an operating room, order lab tests, x-rays, etc... Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and after terminal cleaning. Monitors and restocks supplies. Assists provider during examinations, non-operative and operative procedures. Maintains aseptic techniques; actively monitors situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique. Assists in patient care related activities such as changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs, starting IV solutions and inserting tubes. Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members. Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties. Prepares and maintains records of patient charges. Variation of duties may result based on the assigned customer care unit(s). This may include differences in the specific clinical skills required of the RN. Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment. Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files using knowledge of various computer software applications.

Qualifications Minimum Education:

Diploma Program Required or Associates Degree Required Bachelors Degree Nursing (BSN)

Preferred Work Experience:

1 year Nursing experience.
