9697718-17042 Job Description A contract opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with experience in school nursing to provide essential care for a student requiring transportation support. This immediate opening supports a student with type 1 diabetes who requires close monitoring of blood sugar levels throughout their commute to and from a specialized educational placement. The assignment begins on 10/20. The role is structured to cover the student during transportation hours, with split shifts from approximately 7:00-9:00 AM and 1:00-3:00 PM. There will be no work hours required between these times.

Key Qualifications:

Current, active RN license. Background in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred. Experience managing diabetes or medically complex students a plus. Ability to remain alert and responsive during commutes. Excellent communication and professional interpersonal skills.

Primary Duties:

Accompany and supervise the student during transportation to and from their offsite program. Monitor and respond to blood sugar levels and ensure safe diabetic management. Communicate medical status and concerns to guardians and school personnel as needed. Ensure the student's health and safety throughout transport. Maintain accurate documentation related to the student's condition and care provided.
