9697718-17022 Job Description A rewarding opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse eager to make an immediate impact supporting a student's health and safety. This contract position focuses on providing one-on-one nursing care and supervision for a student with Type 1 diabetes. Starting 10/20, your expertise will ensure safe transportation to and from River Rock over a 45-day period. The roles unique schedule offers morning and afternoon shifts (approximately 7:00-9:00 a.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m.), allowing a break in the middle of the day. Your clinical skills and attention will be vital for a student requiring constant supervision and glucose management.

Key Qualifications:

Valid, active RN license in Pennsylvania Experience in school nursing or pediatric settings preferred Familiarity with diabetes care (Type 1), including blood glucose monitoring, administration of insulin, and emergency response Excellent communication and observation skills Ability to perform nursing duties in dynamic, mobile settings

Primary Responsibilities:

Accompany and care for the student during transportation to and from River Rock, maintaining a safe and supportive environment Monitor blood sugar levels; administer insulin and respond to diabetic emergencies as necessary Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with caregivers and school staff Promote emotional reassurance and establish a trusting rapport with the student Advocate for and protect the student's well-being at all times during transit This position is ideal for compassionate RNs seeking flexible contract assignments close to Elizabethtown, PA, and dedicated to creating positive outcomes for students with special medical needs.
