Correctional Registered Nurse RN Advanced Level Quality Patient Centered Services LLC (QPCS) is seeking three experienced Correctional Registered Nurse (RN) professionals to provide essential nursing services at SCI Mahanoy. Advanced Level Opportunity The successful Correctional RN can perform assigned nursing responsibilities independently and serve as a knowledgeable clinical resource when difficult questions arise regarding patient assessment, treatment, medication administration, care planning, or emergency response. Key Responsibilities Provide professional nursing care, assessments, treatments, and medication administration to inmates and detainees. Serve as a staff nurse, charge nurse, or assessment coordinator as assigned. Monitor patient conditions, respond appropriately to emergencies, and coordinate additional treatment when needed. Maintain accurate EMR electronic medical records and follow nursing, confidentiality, infection-control, safety, and security standards. Core RN Competencies The Registered Nurse should be proficient in: Medication administration, IV therapy, venipuncture, vital signs, and emergency response. Comprehensive physical and mental-status assessments and development of plans of care. Oxygen administration, airway support, suctioning, and respiratory treatments. Catheter, ostomy, enteral-feeding, specimen-collection, and infection-control procedures. Wound assessment, dressing changes, pressure-injury care, drains, and sterile technique. Neurological monitoring, glucose testing, safe patient transfers, and other assigned nursing procedures. Minimum Qualifications Active Pennsylvania or Compact Registered Nurse license Ability to enter and maintain patient health information in an electronic medical records system. Ability to work independently and safely in a secure correctional healthcare environment. Ability to complete required background checks, security procedures, orientation, and facility training.
