Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Full Time Pre/Post operative Registered Nurse to join us on our same day surgery team working between 30-40 hours weekly. Start time varies between 630 and 8am. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care before and after surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal recovery. Your expertise will support a wide range of surgical specialties, including ophthalmology, ENT, Orthopedics, GI, and Pain management. Responsibilities Assess patient health status through detailed physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and thorough medical history reviews. Prepare patients for surgical procedures by explaining processes, ensuring informed consent, and verifying preoperative protocols including IV insertion and aseptic techniques. Administer medications and injections accurately, including botulinum toxin treatments when applicable, following all safety and HIPAA regulations. Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological responses during post-operative recovery using telemetry. Provide education on post-operative care, pain management strategies including acute pain management techniques, and wound or ostomy care for diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, or individuals with disabilities. Qualifications Valid RN license with current registration; experience working in hospital medicine or emergency medicine preferred. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication tailored to diverse populations.
