• 4:30pm General Summary Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care.

Primary responsibilities include direct patient care, patient/family teaching, symptom management, counseling, and supportive role to assist the patients and their families. May require specialized skills depending on location/unit/specialty assignment.

Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions:

Provides general nursing care and personal care assistance to patients. Writes initial nursing histories, assesses patients' conditions and develops individual care plans for patients. Carries out physician orders such as administering prescribed medications or treatments, preparing an operating room, order lab tests, x-rays, etc... Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and after terminal cleaning. Monitors and restocks supplies. Assists provider during examinations, non-operative and operative procedures. Maintains aseptic techniques; actively monitors situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique. Assists in patient care related activities such as changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs, starting IV solutions and inserting tubes. Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members. Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties. Prepares and maintains records of patient charges. Variation of duties may result based on the assigned customer care unit(s). This may include differences in the specific clinical skills required of the RN. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s). Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment. Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files using knowledge of various computer software applications.

Qualifications Minimum Education:

Diploma Program Required or Associates Degree Required Bachelors Degree Nursing (BSN)

Preferred Work Experience:

1 year Nursing experience.

Required Licenses:

Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required or Registered Nurse Multi State License Upon Hire Required and Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Thinks critically, utilizes sound judgment and promptly reports potential patient safety risks to provider and/or manager. Demonstrates good organizational skills in the preparation of daily work schedules and the assignment of duties and responsibilities. Ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple tasks. Ability to work in a fast paced, patient care environment.
