Job Summary Health Source Group is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing services at Mount Carmel Area Jr./Sr. High School , serving students in grades 7-12, for the entire 2026-2027 school year. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to students in the school setting. The RN will assess student health needs, provide appropriate nursing interventions, administer medications, respond to illnesses and injuries, maintain accurate medical records, and collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to support the overall health and well-being of students. The RN will work alongside a Nursing Assistant (LPN) in the school health office. A neighbouring school building has a Certified School Nurse (CSN) , so CSN certification is not required for this position . Per the Superintendent, the school district will assist the selected RN in obtaining the appropriate emergency certification once the candidate has been identified and onboarded. Job Responsibilities Assess and evaluate students' health needs through health screenings, health assessments, and monitoring of vital signs. Provide nursing care and first aid to students who become ill or injured during the school day. Administer medications in accordance with physician orders, school policies, and applicable regulations. Develop, implement, and maintain individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic health conditions or special needs. Monitor students' health conditions and communicate significant concerns to appropriate school personnel, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers. Maintain accurate, confidential, and detailed student health records. Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and provide emergency care, including CPR when necessary. Provide health education to students and staff on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention, and general wellness. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to promote student health and safety. Provide appropriate support and care for students with disabilities and other healthcare needs. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized health office environment. Follow established nursing standards, procedures, protocols, and school district policies. Demonstrate excellent communication, critical thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Protect student privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable requirements. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Prior experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or a school-based healthcare setting is preferred but not required. CSN (Certified School Nurse) certification is not required. Current BLS/CPR certification preferred/required as applicable. Ability to provide appropriate medical documentation and meet school district onboarding requirements. Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods, procedures, and standards. Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and other healthcare professionals. Compassionate, patient, and caring demeanor. Previous experience in urgent care, clinic, pediatric, or school settings is a plus.
