Summary of Position:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, quality,skilled nursing services in accordance with the individual child's physician Plan of Care and ongoing physician orders. All care is delivered in compliance with the state specific Registered Nurse Practice Act and HealthCare for Kids company Policies and Procedures. The Registered Nurse communicates collaboratively and effectively with other healthcare professionals and the individual child's family.

Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

Associate Degree in Nursing, or Diploma with two years of pediatric specialty care experience preferred. Current, active license to practice in Pennsylvania. Participates in continuing education so thatshe/he has knowledge of current trends and developments in nursing. Will obtain continuing education required for re-licensure. IV experience. Annual Pediatric CPR certification. Must be certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/BLS with AED and First Aid.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Environment:

Work is performed primarily in a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care setting with extensive patient contact. Due to the nature of the work, the RN may be exposed to bodily fluids and odors on an occasional basis.

Physical:

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work with a patient; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 30 lbs.); and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision:

Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Hearing:

Hear in a normal audio range, with or without correction.
