JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs age-appropriate initial and ongoing assessments on Antenatal Testing and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) patients. Responsible for the successful continuity of care for patients during antenatal testing and other MFM patients. Reviews diagnostic results, lab reports, health/pregnancy histories and discusses these and any clinical observations with the perinatologist when appropriate. Assists perinatologist during invasive procedures and provides post procedure instructions to the patient. Implements, evaluates, and documents patient care interventions and effectiveness in accordance with the nursing care process. Performs clinical procedures per protocol/order. Maintains necessary inventory of supplies needed to perform antenatal testing. Participates in education of patients and MFM staff. Participates in ongoing PI activities to improve patient care. Functions as a professional role model and resource person providing guidance to co-workers. Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements. Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external). Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety. Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code. Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.. Other related duties as assigned.PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Sit up to 2 hours per day, 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 8 hours per day, 6 hours at a time. Walk 7 hours per day, 10 minutes at a time. Consistently lift, carry, and push objects up to 10 lbs. Occasionally lift, carry or push objects up to 75 lbs. Transports patients weighting up to 300 lbs. via wheelchair or stretcher. Frequently stoop, and bend. Frequently reach above shoulder level. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation and high and low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general near, far, color, and peripheral vision.EDUCATION
Graduate of professional nursing program. Registered Nurses with current license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania or seeking Pennsylvania licensure through reciprocity.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
