A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.
$1,600-$1,800 per week About the Position Camp Poyntelle is seeking a licensed Nurse to provide comprehensive medical care and health oversight for campers and staff during the summer season. This role is integral to ensuring a safe, healthy, and well-supported camp environment and requires sound clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The Nurse must commit to at least three weeks between June 26 and August 16 and will live on site in an individual room with air conditioning and a private bathroom . Principal Responsibilities Medical Care & Clinical Oversight Provide comprehensive nursing care to campers and staff, including assessment, treatment, and management of acute illnesses and injuries Administer scheduled and PRN medications in accordance with physician orders, camp protocols, and state regulations Perform clinical evaluations and determine appropriate follow-up care, referrals, or escalation when necessary Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical documentation for all patient encounters Health & Safety Management Oversee daily operations of the health center, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and appropriate medical supply inventory Monitor communicable illnesses and support infection prevention and control practices across camp Ensure compliance with camp health policies, state regulations, and best practices for resident camp healthcare Collaboration & Communication Communicate effectively with camp leadership, parents/guardians, and external healthcare providers as appropriate Serve as a calm, reassuring presence for campers and staff, particularly during medical or emergency situations Collaborate with leadership to support camper wellness, accommodations, and overall community health
Current RN or LPN license (Pennsylvania or compact license preferred) Clinical experience in pediatrics, school health, camp nursing, or community health strongly preferred Ability to commit to a minimum of three consecutive weeks during the summer season
