Job Description

Southwestern Pennsylvania Eye Surgery Center is looking for a part-time Registered Nurse. We are a busy-privately owned ambulatory surgery center that specializes in ocular procedures, such as cataracts, retinal, and glaucoma. We are currently seeking a highly professional Registered Nurse for our pre-operative/ post-operative area. The right candidate must be a critical thinker, self-starter, while able to multi-task in a quick paced setting. Our facility currently preforms surgeries every Tuesday and Thursday as well as two Wednesday's per month. The ideal person would be able to work all of those surgery days. No weekends, holidays or swing shifts. Four day weekend every week! Job duties are overviewed below but not limited to: Admitting patients for surgery; going over medical history and medications Reviewing consents Checking patient's vital signs Starting IV's for surgical patients Discharging patients when clinically stable Educating patients & family members regarding discharge instructions Calling patients after surgery Generalized re-stocking
Qualifications:
Valid unrestricted Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License Valid unrestricted Driver's License
BLS & ACLS
certification preferred but not a must Previous ambulatory surgery center or ophthalmology experience a bonus There are currently no benefits, except for some paid time off.
