Responsibilities:
Serves as a role model for professional nursing practice by functioning as a recognized unit leader through clinical expertise, education, specialized resource support, and/or evidence-based practice. Consistently provides constructive feedback to healthcare team members and participates in the nursing peer review process. Promotes changes that enhance patient care quality and the unit environment and actively participates in or leads successful teams. Demonstrates advanced clinical assessment, critical thinking, and analytical skills within the framework of Relationship Based Care. Participates in shared governance initiatives at both the unit and hospital levels. Applies the nursing process to create a healing environment and develops individualized plans of care in partnership with patients and families. Effectively communicates patient conditions, care recommendations, and practice improvements to the interdisciplinary team. Maintains comprehensive documentation that supports continuity of care and patient outcomes. Identifies and addresses clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual patient needs throughout the episode of care. Supports patient safety, quality, and patient experience initiatives by incorporating organizational and professional practice standards into daily work. Fosters compassionate, patient-centered relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. Demonstrates a commitment to developing others by precepting students, graduate nurses, and new hires. Identifies learning opportunities, seeks feedback, shares knowledge, and supports ongoing professional development activities. Applies evidence-based practice to improve clinical quality, patient outcomes, and workplace processes. Participates in or leads initiatives that advance innovation, patient care excellence, and workforce well-being.
