9697718-17403 Job Description An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse to provide crucial support to a student with Type 1 diabetes. This contract position involves accompanying and monitoring a student during transportation to and from a specialized program for a 45-day placement. Your expertise will ensure the students safety and well-being during daily commutes.

Responsibilities:

Accompany the student to and from the educational facility each school day. Actively monitor and manage blood glucose levels, providing immediate intervention if necessary. Maintain close, compassionate supervision to ensure the students comfort and safety throughout transit. Collaborate with school staff and the students caregivers to communicate health updates and concerns. Document and report any incidents, interventions, or changes in the students condition.

Qualifications:

Active RN license in Pennsylvania required. Previous experience in school nursing, pediatric care, or working with diabetic students is highly preferred. Comprehensive understanding of diabetes management and emergency procedures. Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and families. Dependable, caring, and able to maintain confidentiality. This position offers a unique split schedule, with hours approximately from 7:009:00 AM and 1:003:00 PM, allowing for a mid-day break.
