Overview:
Sentara is hiring an Imaging Services Navigator in South Boston, Virginia. This is a Full-Time, opportunity with great benefits. This schedule is mainly day shift, but will require some weekend and evenings for community events. The Imaging Services Navigato r c oordinates activities and collects information required for several Imaging quality monitors, services and procedures. Maintain National Data Registries. Provides care management services to clinical and technical team members and serves as a liaison and resource between all disciplines to include physicians, patients, care-givers and other departments. The navigator will work closely with patients, providers and other health care professionals to provide support around Specialized Radiology Procedures and Breast Imaging Follow-up procedures. Assists with Department quality assurance measures. Assists Radiologist with screening patients having invasive procedures. Assists with Teleradiography functions as requested and/or specialized Imaging procedures. Market with community and physician practices to keep them up to date on Imaging capabilities and changes. Assist with scheduling of specialized Imaging procedures and post care for patient.
Qualifications:
Trade School Graduate
  • Radiology Techology, or Registered Nurse required If candidate is an RN
  • New Hire Education Requirement:
    All Registered Nurses who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement committing to successfully obtain their BSN within 5 years of hire. BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire; Emergency Care
  • ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care
  • Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire. Prefers 3-5 years of experience in Imaging or Nursing Care Certification/Licensure Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • American Heart Association (AHA) RQICertification or License Preferences Outgoing individual to get out in community and visit Physician practices to market our capabilities and grow our business.
