Contract Registered Nurse (RN) - Medication Administration Training Overview Bridgework Community Alliance, Inc. is seeking a North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) to contract with our organization to provide medication administration training, competency support, and medication-related oversight for staff working in our residential program. The ideal candidate will have experience with medication administration training for unlicensed personnel/medication technicians and familiarity with behavioral health and/or IDD residential services. This is a contract/PRN opportunity and is not a full-time nursing position. Responsibilities Provide required medication administration training to designated BCA staff. Educate staff on safe medication administration, medication documentation/MARs, medication storage, medication errors, refusals, and other medication-related procedures. Evaluate staff understanding and competency as required before staff independently perform assigned medication-administration duties. Provide required follow-up, retraining, or competency review when necessary. Assist BCA with maintaining appropriate medication-training and competency documentation. Provide consultation regarding BCA's medication-administration procedures and staff medication practices as needed. Remain available for periodic medication-related training or consultation based on organizational needs. Qualifications Current, active, unrestricted North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license. Experience providing medication administration/medication technician training to unlicensed personnel strongly preferred. Experience with behavioral health, IDD, group homes, residential services, or similar human-service settings preferred. Knowledge of medication administration, MAR documentation, medication errors, medication refusals, medication storage, and medication safety. Ability to effectively teach, evaluate, and document staff competency. Must meet BCA's applicable credentialing, background, and contracting requirements. Contract Arrangement This position is offered on an independent-contractor/PRN basis. The selected RN's proposed rate and scope of services will be presented to BCA's Board of Directors for approval before execution of the contract.
