IBCLC Full Job Description Effort:

2-3 Days Weekly, Wednesdays and Thursdays required. Requirement of being On Call 1 night weekly & 1 weekend a month

Position Overview:

HBHM Inc. staff RN/IBCLCs operate within the RI Board of Nursing Scope of Practice and the professional standards for IBCLCs set forth by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. They apply standards of care to provide lactation consultation, home phototherapy services including nursing assessment and blood specimen draws, and equipment set-up and instruction. Staff RN IBCLCs also teach classes and provide instruction in breast pump use and care. These services are provided both in our office in East Greenwich and in our patients' homes.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

Follows established policies and procedures at HBHM Inc. Provide lactation consults and infant home phototherapy services in our patients' homes and our East Greenwich office Instruct patients in the use and care of the durable medical equipment that we provide Provide a report on all current patients to colleagues as needed Encourage a collaborative model of patient care by working with physicians and other disciplines for the total needs of the patient Complete charting at the end of each business day in Athena software Assist with Support Group and classes according to

interest and availability. Be On-Call one weekend per month, and one night per week Network with physicians and fellow RN/IBCLCs to increase referral base throughout the state Oversee the development and timely revision of nursing procedures to enhance the quality of care Keep abreast of new technological developments in nursing, lactation, and health care Maintain current knowledge of international trends in nursing care delivery and incorporate this knowledge into the daily operation of the department of nursing. Seek new ways of improving our service and keep abreast of modern practice and techniques.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing required RI Nursing license required IBCLC required Vaccinations/Titers - Covid, Influenza, Varicella, MMR, TDAP, TB, HepB required Minimum of 5 years' experience in either home health & hospital lactation consulting Thorough knowledge of current nursing practices and lactation management Management and nursing administration experience is a plus Must possesssuperior interpersonal and leadership skills and experience Understanding of data privacy standards Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, including public speaking skills Candidate must deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment Participates in a cohesive and collaborative nursing team Works collegially with managers and other employees Excellent technological and computer skills required, with experience in using an Electronic Medical Record and Google applications Superior attention to detail; organizational skills; planning skills; research skills; analytical skills; critical thinking skills; problem-solving skills; multi-tasking abilities; integrity, honesty Spanish/Portuguese language skills a plus

Pay:

$35.00 - $42.00 per hour
