Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a caring and skilled school nurse, supporting students' well-being for the remainder of the school year at a vibrant secondary campus near Woonsocket, RI. This key role places you at the heart of student health, with your own nurse's office in the school's Health Room—a dedicated space to provide top-quality care and build trusting relationships with young people.
Key Qualifications:
Valid RN license or Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential Previous experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations is highly preferred Comfortable assessing, triaging, and responding to students' health needs throughout the school day Skilled in administering medications and following individualized health plans Strong communicator, able to collaborate with staff, students, and families Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in keeping accurate health records
Primary Responsibilities:
Operate the Health Room and manage your own nurse's office Respond to students who feel ill or require medical attention during school hours Evaluate symptoms, provide basic care, and determine next steps for student health Administer medications in accordance with doctors' orders and parental consent Maintain detailed documentation of all visits, medications, and incidents Serve as a key health resource for students, staff, and the school community This position offers the chance to make a positive difference in students' daily lives while enjoying a clear, structured schedule through the conclusion of the school year (ending June 17th).
