1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment history. Details Short term acute care hospital setting on a Medical Surgical unit Patient ratios of 1:6 to 1:7 Night shift, 4x12 hours from 6:45p-7:15a (3x12 schedules will be considered) Every other weekend required No on-call requirements Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including sister facilities Uses Epic charting system Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks Requirements Active SC RN license or Compact license in hand prior to start Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only) Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Telemetry experience, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias preferred Driver's license and SSN required for consideration Additional Information Provide direct patient care for a Med/Surg patient population including GI, neurological, respiratory, and genitourinary/renal care needs Skills include colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, cardiac monitoring, oxygen administration, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and pre/post hemodialysis management 97 staffed beds Royal blue scrub color required All assigned training modules must be completed prior to start date, with access typically available the Wednesday before start Attendance at staff meetings is required Block scheduling approval may be requested prior to assignment but is not guaranteed First-time travelers are not accepted for this position Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration Local candidates will be considered at a reduced rate Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to qualify for standard travel rate; MUSC prioritizes non-local candidates During hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams No cost parking available
